We launched, we got very busy, and we watched Kiwis getting very generous indeed. We have heard fantastic stories about people being blown away at receiving gifts from someone they don’t know, and this makes all the work worthwhile. It is part of our vision to make a direct difference to the causes that Kiwis care about, and the latest of our charity partners help us do just that.
VOYCE Whakarongo Mai
Kiwi kids who experience life in care have a very different existence to most. Sometimes they are with a family for a short stay, sometimes for a longer period, but each new experience comes with a certain level of anxiousness. Stories of children going to families with not much more than the clothes they have on and a toothbrush in a shopping bag was all the motivation we needed to do what we could to help. Voyce is a new independent organisation that ensures the voices of care-experienced children are heard. Children can share stories, speak openly and learn from each other. Points for Purpose is delighted to add Voyce to our whanau, and we can’t wait to hear about the moments of magic generous Fly Buys members will make with their gifts.
When we started, we were always really excited about the prospect of Kiwis using their Fly Buys points to help people in need. But then we realised – it’s not all about people. What about the furry or feathered babies that aren’t looked after properly, abandoned, or worse – harmed? The SPCA is a service that does incredible work on the sniff of a barely-oily rag, so when we approached them and they said “YES PLEASE” we were over the moon. Pet-loving Fly Buys members are now able to use their points to buy much needed products for animals in the care of the SPCA.
We will share photos when we get them!
